Even though the NRL is nothing more than a feeder club for the real game Rugby Union :D I think the tigers will be the team to beat this year.

That's like saying I'm a Ford fan but I enjoy seeing Holden win
I just close my eyes when Hayne gets the ball...i dont want to enjoy watching him play..hahahah j/k
he pulled dogs apart in preliminary finals last season....i took the kids to watch the game.... :(

Does Gus G still do a lot of commentary work. i swear i stopped watching footy many years ago after he started crapping on at any opportunity

 I think you've got it around the wrong way though Dave, "Kick n Clap" is the feeder code to the NRL, just look at the high profile signings that have come back to League after draining the ARU's coffers.
I think the majority of us Tigers fan's are quietly optimistic about our chances this year, however all of us are worried about Tom Shines' penchant for playing players out of position. No matter how bad they play he is just to damn stubborn to move them back to their preferred position. Fingers crossed it wont happen this year.

He's still involved in commentary Dino, but his role has been reduced over the last couple of years. His comments now mainly focus on analysis, which is good as love him or loath him you cant deny he is passionate about his footy. He also has a brilliant football brain. Its great to listen to Sterlo & him analyse a game, it's pretty common for them to call a play 3 plays before it happens. He also has a bit of to & frow banter with Rabs, which can be worth a chuckle.

Wish gus gould would would become a lawn bowls commentator.....i dont watch lawn bowls.

As for calling plays...the modern game is a bit like, 5th and last, kick and chase. regather, keep pressure on and score against an exhaused defending side. Or other team gathers the ball, hangs on for 4-5 and kicks. Then we go full circle again. I used to love my footy, but the over paid, over coached, over commentated, over regulated game sucks......back to the cricket for me!

P.S (go manly!)
